We spend the day in Kunming and visit Da Gaum Park (大觀公園). Seniors get in for free and many of them are exercising with various forms of tai chi. For some folks, I'm not sure if they're senile or if it's a legitimate tai chi form.

We visit Yuantong Temple (圆通寺), a buddhist complex. Lots of people are lighting incense and turtles are left there for good luck.

Touching the lucky petrified wood.

We visit a public park in Kunming where kids are learning to play the gourd flute. Roasted sweet potatoes vendors are outside the park.

We have a long drive and I observe all the scooters and motorbikes on the street. In the afternoon we go to Lufeng Dinosaur Valley. The area is packed with the remains of dinosaurs. There's a more serious side of the park that houses the fossil remains and the giant dinosaur skeletons, and the other side of the park is a dino-themed amusement park for the kiddies.

For dinner we head out for a meal and show. More hot pot! We watch a strange bonfire lighting performance in a square. Hmmm...giving wooden stakes to a rambunctious crowd to light at the end? A wee bit dangerous.
