Today we'll visit Baofeng Lake and Yuanjiajie Scenic Area. The Aunties and Mom are armed with their new walking sticks in preparation for all the stairs and ups and downs for today. We have to climb some rocky steps to get up to the lake. Auntie Angela decides to be carried up.
At the top we go for a boat ride. A guide points out the sites and 2 singers are stationed on the lake to serenade us.
It's many steps to get back down.
Our next stop is Yuanjiajie Scenic Area (袁家界). These mountains inspired the landscape for the film Avatar. We take a cable car up to one level of the mountains and then an elevator ride even higher.
The rock pillar on the right was renamed "Hallelujah Mountain" after the ones in the Avatar movie that it inspired.
After dinner we have an evening flight to Chengdu. We don't get to our hotel till 2am. and we have to fly out to Jiuzhaigou early the next morning. Mom gets sick.
