We leave La Fortuna for Monteverde. Even though they are only about 25 km. apart, it's a 3 hr. trip on bumpy roads and a boat ride in the middle. We also stop for a 2 hr. tour on horseback at Rancho Makena.

In the evening, we spy on our new favourite animals, the frogs and toads of the Ranario de Monteverde.
