We have a lazy morning taking our time at the buffet breakfast. We try to perfect our pan con tomate by watching the other hotel patrons.

We pack our bags and head out to Santiago one last time to pick up some Empanada Gallega for my aunt. We choose 2 big pies, one with octopus and one with mushrooms.

There's just enough time for one last taste of Pulpo a la Gallega before we have to head to the airport. We return to Restaurante-Mesón O'42 for a quick snack. The waiter remembers us from our first visit. And then we're off to Madrid!

Both our packs are overweight. We do a quick re-pack, jamming whatever we can into our day packs. Sophia has to chuck her 6 euro flip flops with a bit of regret. They're ragged on the bottom anyways, but they were a nice reminder of our epic beach trek. Ryanair has some strict baggage rules. Each passenger must have one and only one piece of carry-on baggage, so no extraneous purses or camera bags. We pack the 2 pies into Diego's little carry-on suitcase along with my day pack, and Diego and Sophia each have their own day packs. It's funny to see everyone in the boarding line cramming all their things into one bag and hiding things in flaps.

It's only an hour flight to Madrid and we get picked up by my Uncle Peter. Diego is finally rid of us and can go sleep and watch TV...no more walking! :D
We have our first home-cooked chinese meal in a month, thanks to Auntie Lucia!
