We leave Cangas de Onis for Oviedo, but not before stopping at the delicious bakery across from our hotel to pick up some breakfast and snacks. We have some chorizo filled mini buns. Once again we drive through Arriondas. There must be a special festival going on because lots of people are out in traditional Asturian costume.
We arrive in Oviedo and check into Hostal Belmonte, a nice family run hostal right on the main street Uria by the train station. We have a room with a cute little closed balcony overlooking the street. It's Sunday and most things are closed, so it's a quiet day of wandering the city. There are lots of sculptures all over the streets of Oviedo.
We have dinner at Restaurant Impala. We wait as long as we can (for Spanish dinner time) but still, we're the first and only customers. Not sure if we're just early or because it's Sunday. A kindly grandpa patiently waits as we interpret the menu boards and makes us dinner.
